Dear Customer, Upon careful review, your EverQuest account has been suspended regarding your actions contrary to the User Agreement and Rules of Conduct, specifically rule 11, which states: "11. You will not exploit any bug in EverQuest and you will not communicate the existence of any such bug (either directly or through public posting) to any other user of EverQuest. You will promptly report any such bug via the in-game/bug command." This suspension will remain in effect until regular workig hours Friday, July 30, 1999. Im still kinda upset that they still think that we (the suspended parties) had some involvement or knowledge of this "exploit/bug". My actions contrary to the rules and agreement? I love it how Verant is never personal and just asumes we're all involved. Oh well....see you guys tonight I guess. // Rektar Wednesday, July 28, 1999 Response to John 1:39 pm Let me be quite clear so there are no misunderstandings on this issue: (i.e. post this up front) ;) We did NOT ban an entire guild. Nope you suspended them and changed them to level 1 because when your gm's said "tell me how to dupe or your going to be banned" they said they didn't know. Several members of this guild have been banned for exploitation that warranted being removed from the game. They were caught red handed (we have proof) and we have confessions. If you actually caught people duping, why did your GM's hound and harrass a large group of people to tell them how to dupe? And it's kind of odd that everyone I've talked to never confessed to anything. I did confess to knowing of an old dupe bug that was fixed a long time ago, but it didn't let you dupe items or anything. I also confessed to exploiting in kedgekeep. If anyone wants to level fast, you can get anything stuck in those doors that slide up and down, just swim past em and any creature following you will get stuck, just be careful not to get yourself stuck. I feel that until they get off their asses and finish the game, it's an open welcome to go powerlevel in there. Others in the Guild are being suspended for a short time for having knowledge of the exploitation and not bringing it to our attention. The exploitation in question has already been fixed. Who would have knowldege of this and not be involved? If you were able to dupe and make a shitload of money on ebay, would you sit by idle? They suspended these people for saying they didn't know anything, which I'm sure they didn't. They are honest people who would have told if they knew anything. Infact a few of them mentioned that they had heard of a dupe bug, but it didn't let you keep items anyway, so they hadn't reported it. Hell why should they report it when the promises made by brad are never kept anyway. I remember a few months ago, right after Brad said publicly that he would give a Title to anyone who reported a dupe bug. Quik (fellow guild member) immediatly reported one. The reply he got from Elionia was "Thank you, but we're not doing that right now." I think he still has a screenshot of this even. Anyway, the bug was never fixed, and he never got a title. Good job GM's. To me, if you see someone you know rob a house and you don't turn them in then you deserve some punishment as well. Perhaps that should be in your agreement then. Hey, by the way, have you ever read that thing? I have a link to it off here if you need to review it. I don't see any mention that if you know of someone doing something bad and you don't report it, you'll be punished. It does say "You will promptly report any such bug via the in-game/bug command." I know I wouldn't report this. The person who did got suspended and had his character changed to level 1 too. Nice to know you get punished for following the rules of conduct as well. Some may consider this punishment harsh. Verant considers exploitation of bugs like this to be a bannable offense. As a followup, I'd like to mention the rules of conduct again. Here are rules 1 and 2: 1.You may not harass or threaten other players. Gee, I was threatened and harrased for almost an hour by GM's. I really wish we had more screenshots of all the harrasment, to show the world that GM's don't need to abide by these rules of conduct. 2.You may not use any sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive language. Wow, they were harmful and threatening. Well that's if you consider them saying "Stop lying, and tell us how to dupe now or you will be banned", to every member in the guild.. Now don't get me wrong, after the first 10-15 minutes of being annoyed by these powerhungry GM's, I stopped following these rules as well. Last night the guild Im in Akanons Alliance was accused of duping by the gm's we where all summoned to some small room where the gm's harassed us and told us to confess to duping and tell them how it was done or they would delete our accounts. The thing is we don't have any idea how to dupe stuff or at least I don't. That didn't matter to the gm's tho...they took my lvl 40 warrior down to lvl 1 and suspended me...why they took me down to lvl 1 is one thing I REALLY don't understand (hint abuse of power.) So anyhow and besides if I knew how to dupe I would be a rich guy on the server and would have some nice equipment....well I got to tell you folks something, my character is freaking poor. I have lame equipment and this is just making you guys look bad. Another thing that's pissing me off is the fact that the gm's didn't have any proof or wouldn't even discuss with us the circumstances surrounding this lame attack. We all pay good hard earned money for this game it kinda sucks to have you guys (Verant) treat us this way. I wish I had screen shots of what went on to send to all the web pages, but lucky for you guys I didn't get to take any. One last thing....and this is really sad, this whole stuff started from a bunch of llamas (with no proof mind you) started accusing us of cheating and petitioning, if this is all it takes is just some finger pointing to get people suspended and banned then you're gonna have some unhappy customers. Well I wont go on for to long....in closing I just want to say that maybe you guys should look into hiring some competent gm's not half wit nerds that are on some power trip.
